Arugula, Chicken  Melon Salad with Sumac Dressing

This Greek Mizuna Salad with Sumac Vinaigrette celebrates the sunny Mediterranean flavors of sumac, olives, pistachios, lemons, cucumbers, peppers, and tomatoes. In fact, its a twist on a classic Greek salad, relying upon the delicious, wonderful, lacy salad greenmizuna. You may not be very familiar with mizuna, but you probably have had baby mizuna in a bag of mixed salad greens and didnt even realize it at the time. It is one of the easiest salad greens to grow in your garden, creating a virtual canopy of lettuce greens that grows without too much water and fuss. Ive been growing this prolific green for two years in my garden now, and absolutely love it.  

This recipe also calls upon one of my favorite spicessumac, which is the red spice typically applied liberally in Greek and Fatoush salads. Sumac salad is a chilled salad and it is refreshing on a Summer day. The salad pairs well with anything coming off the grill or smoker. Try it with our Smoked Drumsticks or Kebabs. Make it and take it to your next July 4th, Memorial Day, or Labor Day picnic.

The berry trees are small, similar to a large bush. The fruit grows in clusters on the tree, similar to other berries. You can wild harvest the berries, but be mindful. Some varieties are toxic, so be sure you are with an experienced forager.

It has a rainbow of vegetables and the warm chicken pieces on top with the cool salad is my absolute favorite thing. Its just SO SO GOOD! I think part of it has something to do with theamazing dressing and the other part isthat garlic sauce. And of course the toasty pita pieces are too shabby either.

Since there is not a La Marsa in Virginia where Kellylives, 9 times out of 10 we order it when shes in town. Usually whomever is closest to the restaurant picks up the order and in no time we are all blissfully drunk on chicken shawarma wraps, chicken tawook salad and garlic sauce.

The Salad Breakdown: Leafy salad greens, carrots, cabbage, fresh dill andparsley,cucumber, onions, tomato, broken pieces of toasted pita and grilled pieces of chicken tawook. A dollop of that amazinggarlic sauce and a drizzle of lemon sumac dressing seals the deal.

What can i use sumac vinaigrette on?

Put crushed garlic clove, smoked sea salt, sumac, smoked paprika, lemon juice, and 4 tablespoons olive oil in a small bowl. Briskly whisk all ingredients together. Set dressing aside to allow flavors to infuse.

As a general rule, I enjoysalads. This isnt anything new. ut it takes a very specialsalad for me to feel 100% satiated with one as a main course. It also takes a very special salad for metocrave it more than anything else! It has to have a ton of flavor and texture, and this salad checks all of those boxes. Jeg elsker det.

Det er også værd at bemærke, at denne Middelhavs kyllingesalat smager utroligt med side Ofgrilled Grøntsager. Aubergine, Zucchini og Bell Pepper er mine favoritter til denne særlige salat!

Forbered salat: I en stor salatskål kombinerer skullionerne, soltørrede tomater, Zaatar Spice, Sumac og Kål. DD Romaine, blandede greener, citronsaft, olivenolie og en generøs sprinkling af salt og peber. Toss og sæson til smag, Justering med yderligere salt, citronsaft eller olivenolie efter behov.

Kombiner sumac med blødgørende væske, citronsaft, granatæble melasse, hvidløg, eddike og frisk basilikum i en lille skål. Forsæt gradvist olie, whisking konstant, indtil det er godt blandet. Sæson med salt til smag Tilføj flere ingredienser til smag, hvis det ønskes. Tilføj til din yndlingssalat og drys ekstra sumac lige før servering
